The Hereford Three Choirs Festival Fringe has been run during Hereford Three Choirs week for some years as an adjunct to the main festival. We have enjoyed a cordial relationship with the main festival and assumed that this would continue.

After the 2006 festival, the local authority became more and more interested in the Three Choirs Festival and indicated that they would only continue to provide funding if certain conditions were met. The result of this is that the current Hereford Three Choirs Festival Fringe committee have been told that their services are no longer required.

The official line is that the main Three Choirs committee in Hereford is “revising the activities traditionally associated with the Fringe”. Quite what this means for all the lovely people who might want to take part in this, and any future 3CFF Fringes, we are not sure as we are no longer involved. We retain the right to the name and may consider future events in Hereford but we will not be connected to the Three Choirs Festival.
